On our return from a month in India, where we saw all sorts of marvellous trees and flowers, we have found that our garden at 1st March must be at least a month ahead of normal. That makes us concerned about where we will be when we come to our Open Days, but then we stop and remember the Beast from the East in 2018. That took us from being ahead to being behind.
Just to give an indication of where we are, I am posting some photographs of magnolias that are now a full month ahead of their usual dates, and for whom I am dreading the possibility of a hard frost.
If this weather continues, we are contemplating opening at the end of March or early April so that visitors can see our early flowering trees. Please watch this space for any announcement on that.
……… Meanwhile, Happy Gardening!
